I wanted to retain the interlacing as I prefer to let the playback device do the de-interlacing, and this software makes it a breeze to do so.Īdditionally, I had other material where I only wanted to convert the audio, due to PCM on a mono video soundtrack from the 80's being overkill to say the least, so the option to copy/passthrough the video track was an added bonus. I'm trying to esport in H.264 like I always do in Premiere.I've been using XMedia Recode to back up tons of old video material which is interlaced. This are the settings I used when I converted:īitrade: 25000 (I put this in, don't know it's to much or to low)Īny suggestions? The video was also super unresponsive in Premiere making problems, etc.

Everything seemed fine however I get this super strange artifacts when I try to re-encode again using Premiere Pro (after I added my music, etc). This is why I needed a way to convert it to mp4.Īnyway I used XMedia Recode and re-encoded it using MPEG-4 AVC / H.264. That's the main problem actually because Adobe Premiere Pro has problems opening an AVI with x264. Reason why I use the x264 codec is because of super low file size but high quality. I finally managed to do a recording with DXTory + x264 codec. This means I am wasting another hour.Īny solution on how to stop Avidemux changing the fps from 30 to 25 when I just "copy" the video? This solved the problem, however, this means I need to re-encode.

Avidemux detects it as 30 fps.īut when I "copy" it it get's to 25 fps so the audio get's out of sync. Problem? Video is now 25 fps even that it was recorded at 30 fps. 3 seconds later I have a small mp4 file with super high quality. Set up the Audo to AAC (both of my channels).

So I found Avidemux, a program that I have been told can re-convert an AVI to an MP4 without re-encoding. I heard that Premiere Pro has problems with H.264 videos in AVI Container. I have sound, I have duration, but it's black. This allows me to have super small file size for videos at super high quality.Īdobe Premiere Pro CS6 shows the AVI file as black. I use x264vfw - H.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec to encode.
